The DP® CONTRA Pin Mill is a robust apparatus intended for nonstop use. Grinding difficult materials—even those with a Mohs hardness of three or higher—is something it excels at. These materials may be reduced to incredibly small powders, with sizes ranging from 10 to 500 microns.
The DP® CONTRA Pin Mill works really well because it has two special rotating discs with pins on them. One of these discs spins on the forward direction, while the other spins on the opposite direction side, where the material enters the mill's center. It is ideal for processing brittle materials because the discs are reached at a very high speed, reaching up to 240 m/sec at the outermost rows of pins. The speed may be precisely controlled to process the material more finely.
The big chamber in the mill creates a centrifugal powerful force that helps process materials even if they're wet, oily, sticky or absorb moisture easily. This ensures everything gets mixed evenly without sticking to the pins or the chamber walls. Liquid nitrogen can also be used to enable cryogenic milling of materials that are sensitive to heat, like spices. This machine's unique capacity to employ cryogenic milling allows it to retain up to 97% of the aromatic oils found in spices. In comparison to conventional processing procedures, it also maintains the lipids in the spices, giving the powdered spices a far greater flavor and fragrance.

DP® UNIVA Series Pin Mill is a specialized grinding machine that uses circular steel pins that interlock to efficiently crush or grind different materials into fine particles. Feed material is fed into the milling chamber. Inside the mill, there's a rotor equipped with closely spaced pins. These pins rapidly spin around their axis. As the rotor spins the particles collide with the rotating pins. This collision causes the particles to break and grind into smaller sizes, the centrifugal force generated by the spinning rotor helps to propel the ground particles through the screen, The milling process is adjustable, allowing for control over the fineness of the end product.
